SEISMIC RETROFITTING WORK TO HERITAGE MASONRY STRUCTURE – RAJ BHAWAN, GANGTOK, SIKKIM. 

Sikkim is India’s north-eastern state situated in Himalayan range. The region is seismically very active and falls under zone 4 of seismic activities in India. Most high profile heritage structure built over 100 years back is Raj Bhavan – the Governor’s house. In recent past Raj Bhavan experienced certain damages due to earthquake. BDS was called as specialist contractor to carryout the seismic retrofitting works. BDS handed over the job successfully in a record time of 120 working days.
