Due to its experience in handling such structures, BDS can offer complete solution to ESR problems.

Elevated water storage reservoirs (ESRs) are unique in nature since they are always under designed loading till the end of their service life. Due to this, they mature quickly and come under distress, leading to cracking of the main supporting frame.

Repairs to such structures require detailed planning. Unless the understanding of exact level of deterioration and extent of repairs required is done, one should not proceed with the repair strategy. Repair schemes that include repairs and restoration of RCC members like columns & beams, strengthening of a few or all of the members, improving the ductility of column-beam joints, corrosion treatment, injection treatment, protection coating, etc., can be drawn and implemented systematically to achieve the desired results. Sometimes dismantling and recasting of the roof slab, and waterproofing of the tank or container also become and essential part of the repair scheme.

Due to their height and proximity to adjoining structures – usually residential buildings – safety is as much of an issue as surface preparation and quality of repairs. These factors are largely controlled through the expertise of the engineers, the experience of the supervisors, and especially the skill of the workmen, since there are imitations of supervision due to height.

BDS has highly trained people who can work at heights and undergo regular safety training to make certain that they adhere to safe working practices. Their understating of materials and application techniques ensures their compliance with the desired level of specifications.

Since these structures are usually related with the daily supplies of water to residential areas, they are classified as very critical structures, requiring very close co-ordination with the users and relevant authorities. Being public structures, their repair scheme is also formulated from the seismic retrofitting point of view.
