In industrial structures, a very important consideration is the long-term durability of the work. BDS can implement a range of solutions at different levels of the durability-cost scale.

Sometimes the requirement is that work should be undertaken during shutdown periods, which needs detailed programming and mobilisation of sufficient resources to complete the work on schedule. At most times, however, the work must be undertaken whilst the plant remains operational, which may require working while surrounded by numerous equipment, piping, precision instruments and may involve locations with very high temperatures and under strict environmental control. Here, BDS’ integrated management system for health, safety, and environment (HSE), enables successful and safe implementation of the projects.

BDS offers detailed inspection, testing of such plants along with complete repair & strengthening program. BDS team with able supervision will ensure quality repairs and restoration of damaged members.

BDS has experience in working in Oil Refineries, Cement Plants, Petrochemical plants, Pharmaceutical Industries, Agro Industries, Nuclear Power Plants, and Thermal Power Plants etc. BDS understands the security issues related to plants of national importance.

Deterioration of RCC structures in industrial plants can vary tremendously from industry to industry. For example, a chemical handling unit situated in coastal belts will have far more serious issues than other plants in the same region, since the RCC members in such plants get exposed to a very severe corrosive atmosphere, leading to concrete spalling and steel corrosion. Similarly, heavy machinery housed in plants causes vibrations on RCC members, making them more vulnerable to cracking and spalling.

The distressed members are repaired using all the possible techniques that includes crack repairs by injection, jacketing, fibre wrapping, hand applied polymer and epoxy mortars, a variety of micro-concrete etc.
